Punjab’s Digital Expansion: Free Wi-Fi service Rolled Out in Nankana Sahib

Following the successful implementation in Lahore and Kasur, the Punjab government has introduced the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi service” in Nankana Sahib.

This free Wi-Fi service is now available at five key locations in Nankana Sahib, including Masjid Chowk, Tehsil Mor Chowk, Kachhari Phatak, Railway Station, and Railway Chowk.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted that this initiative will benefit over 25,000 residents of Nankana Sahib. In just the first four weeks, citizens have utilized 250 GB of data through this service.

Emphasizing the initiative’s impact, the CM pointed out that over 5 million citizens in Lahore have already benefited from the free internet service, showcasing its widespread popularity. She has also instructed the relevant authorities to expand the free Wi-Fi service to an additional 250 locations across Lahore.

The CM further mentioned that the “Safe City Free Wi-Fi” service is currently operational at 10 locations in Kasur, with plans to extend it to 20 more points within the city.

In addition, the Chief Minister announced that the Safe Cities initiative will soon be launched in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala. By the end of the year, the Safe City Authority is expected to be established in 18 cities across Punjab.
