Punjab School Education Minister Sikandar Hayat has announced plans to recruit thousands of government school teachers in the next two months. The aim of the recruitment offensive is to counteract the prevailing teacher shortage and to ensure that the schools are well staffed for the coming school year.
Up to 30,000 teachers will be recruited across the province, with the process taking place in phases. Minister Hayat emphasized the goal of completing recruitment during the summer break. “Depending on demand, we plan to hire 20,000 to 30,000 teachers during the summer holidays,” he said.
The minister also mentioned a rationalization process to address the remaining teacher shortage. This initiative aims to create employment opportunities and improve the quality of education in government schools.
